This allows students to work independently while still getting individual attention and support throughout the session.

Tutoring sessions are 55 minutes.

Tutoring is $45 per student, per 55-minute session.

A 10% sibling discount is available for families with more than one child enrolled.

Do you offer one-on-one tutoring?

Math Mentors primarily uses a small-group model rather than traditional one-on-one tutoring.

Because groups are limited to four students, I’m still able to work individually with each student while they also have time to practice and work independently.

Absolutely.

Homework is often a helpful starting point because it shows me what your student is currently learning and where they may be getting stuck.

We may also spend part of the session reviewing an earlier skill, practicing a difficult concept, preparing for a test, or getting ahead.

The goal is not just to finish the homework—it’s to make sure your student understands the math behind it.

That’s okay. I hear that a lot.

Students are often frustrated with math because they’ve reached a point where something stopped making sense or they’ve started to believe they just aren’t good at it.

We work from where they are, take things one step at a time, and build from there.

They don’t have to love math. I just want them to feel more capable and less overwhelmed by it.

Math Mentors is not a separate math class with one set curriculum for every student.

I usually work alongside what students are learning at school or through their homeschool program, while also filling skill gaps or providing additional practice when needed.

Yes.

I work with homeschool students during daytime hours and can support the curriculum your family is already using.

That may include additional instruction, help with assignments, skill-building, review, or enrichment.

Math Mentors is currently an approved vendor with Visions In Education and Compass Charter Schools.

Families enrolled with either program may be able to use available educational funds for tutoring, subject to their school’s guidelines and approval.

Math Mentors is located at 201 E. Monte Vista Avenue in Vacaville, California, at the corner of Monte Vista and Cernon.

Tutoring takes place in my office rather than in students’ homes.

Families are welcome to join the waitlist, and I contact families as openings become available.

When you join the waitlist, I keep your information on file and reach out when a tutoring time becomes available that may work for your student.

Availability can change throughout the school year, so I’m not always able to predict how long the wait will be.
